INSTITUTION
Our Software Engineering Department was established on June 11, 2018, within the Faculty of Engineering. As of today, our department has a total of 6 academic staff members, including 2 Associate Professors, 2 Assistant Professors, and 2 Research Assistants. The Software Engineering Master's program, which has been established in our department, will commence in the 2024-2025 fall semester under the Institute of Science.
SOFTWARE ENGINEERING EDUCATION AND GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
The Software Engineering program spans four years. To graduate, students are required to complete at least 240 ECTS credits during their studies and achieve passing grades. To bridge theoretical knowledge with practical experience, a mandatory 30-day internship is required at the end of the fifth semester in designated locations. Students who meet certain criteria can enroll in the "Cooperative Education Program" course in the first semester of their final year, gaining practical experience in a professional setting. Students who fulfill all these requirements will graduate from the Software Engineering program. Those who wish to pursue a career in academia may continue with postgraduate studies.
CAREERS IN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
Graduates of the Software Engineering Department are employed in various public and private sector organizations, research and development centers, defense industry, academic institutions, and all areas where technology intersects. They hold positions such as Software Engineer, Software Architect, Systems Analyst, Systems Engineer, Design Engineer, Test Engineer, Information Technology Specialist, Web Designer and Programmer, Data Analyst, Network and Internet Specialist, and Academic.
