The Project Exhibition on Data and Information Security organized at our university attracted great attention with the intense effort and creativity of the students. In the exhibition where 80 different text and image encryption algorithms originally prepared by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Avuçlu, faculty member of the Software Engineering Department, and his students were presented to the participants in practice, projects introducing the original encryption techniques were exhibited.
Topics such as data and information security came to the forefront at the event. There was great interest in the exhibition and the participants examined the students' projects with curiosity. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Avuçlu, faculty member of the Software Engineering Department of the Engineering Faculty, said, “Our students are both creating an infrastructure for marketing their projects to the real world and we see that data security is not only an academic field but also one of the professions of the future. Some of the algorithms we have developed are much stronger than the existing encryption algorithms in the literature.”
The event revealed the importance of university-industry collaboration. Faculty of Engineering faculty member Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Hınıs and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Selim Çakmak also toured the exhibition with interest, received information from the students and congratulated them.
