SOFTWARE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

The Department of Software Engineering, part of Aksaray University's Faculty of Engineering, offers a four-year undergraduate program and a thesis-based Master's program in Software Engineering, part of the Aksaray University Institute of Science. Our department has a total of eight permanent faculty members: 1 Professor, 3 Associate Professors and 4 Research Assistants. Our department also has computer and project laboratories. These laboratories offer online lectures, training in various computer programming languages, operating systems, databases, and applications, among others. Our department's curriculum is designed to keep pace with developments in science and technology. In addition to providing our students with knowledge of the fundamentals of software development, we also provide training to specialize in specific areas. The department offers cooperative education and internship opportunities to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and industry experience. Students have the opportunity to experience real-world applications through internships at leading software companies. Through the Cooperative Education Project, students participate in a structured educational strategy that reinforces their professional development by working in a field related to their profession at contracted workplaces during the seventh and eighth semesters of their undergraduate studies. The department's course content covers the fundamental principles of computer and software engineering. These topics include mobile programming, game programming, web-based application development, database management, algorithms, artificial intelligence, embedded systems, microcontrollers, computer networks, security, and software test analysis. In these courses, students learn both theoretical knowledge and gain practical experience through projects and laboratory work. This allows graduates to acquire a broad range of knowledge and develop skills relevant to industry demands.
