E-Micro team consisting of Aksaray University (ASU) students left their mark on TEKNOFEST this year. Competing with the robot they produced in the Unmanned Underwater Systems Advanced category, the ASU team succeeded in becoming a finalist. Family and Social Services Minister Derya Yanık, Baykar Defense Technical Manager Selçuk Bayraktar and Nobel Prize-winning scientist Prof. Aziz Sancar was particularly interested in the design of the ASU team.
TEKNOFEST was held in Istanbul this year. In the competitions held in different categories, the teams had the opportunity to exhibit their projects. The E-Micro team formed by ASU students also participated in TEKNOFEST in the Advanced category of Unmanned Underwater Systems. The robot, which was designed by ASU students and goes autonomously underwater, successfully passed all the stages and became a finalist. E-Micro Consultant Faculty Member of the Faculty of Engineering Dr. Emre Avuçlu said that they are happy both for making it to the finals and for representing ASU and Aksaray in the best possible way. Expressing that they have received the fruit of their selfless work, Dr. Avuçlu said, “We participated in the competition with the robot we specially designed and the original software we installed on this robot. After various stages, we left many universities behind and reached the finals. Our work won the appreciation of a wide audience. Family and Social Services Minister Derya Yanık, Baykar Defense Technical Manager Selçuk Bayraktar and Nobel Prize-winning scientist Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar took special interest in our project and signed our robot. This has been an important source of motivation, especially for our students. We would like to thank all our friends in the team for their contributions.
